This is no joke, there is now a way for you to send smells to someone via iPhone. I like video and I have taken the time to think about the next generation of video and one of the things I thought about was a camera that could capture visuals, audio, and even smell. But what about sending smells phone to phone, now that is some amazing stuff!

The app that is expected to be released to the iOS App Store later this fall will work with a product called the Chat Perf which is an attachment for your iOS device that plugs directly into your devices dock. The Chat Perf contains an atomizer and smell tank and the whole process of how this works is extremely hard to explain. But before you get to excited you should probably be aware of the cost of this attachment. Each Chat Perf costs $62.25 and the reason I specified “each” is because you don’t actually get to create the smells, meaning you can’t take a dump, capture the smell, and then send it to your broski’s.

If you want to send a smell the receiver and sender must both already have the set smell attachment on their device. These details make me feel as though what sounded awesome, isn’t so awesome after all. Its still not like being able to capture the smell of a flower and send it to your friend, allowing them to smell it. Yes, there might be a Chat Perft attachment for a flower smell but, its going to cost you and the person you would like to send it to $62.25 per attachment.

The service seems far to expensive in my opinion and the technology is clearly not mastered yet.
